Leather Care

Real Leather is an investment to your closet and we believe that your investment must be protected for a lifetime.

Please see some guidelines below to keep your leather in the best condition.

  • Dust on a weekly basis with a soft cloth or vacuum with a soft brush.
  • If you spill something on your item, use a damp cloth to immediately dab off any excess. Do not rub. Do not use excess water, as water staining can occur.
  • Do not use household cleaning products.
  • If you use a recommended semi-aniline leather-cleaning product, always pay attention to the instructions and test on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Semi-aniline leather protection cream can be applied to offer more protection against staining and scratching but this may alter the color of the leather.
  • When applying recommended creams always pay attention to the instructions and test on an inconspicuous area first.
  • Do not dry clean.
  • Do not machine wash.
  • Do not Tumble dry.
  • Do not use soap or detergent of any kind.
  • Do not use solvents or bleach.
  • Do not force dry exposure to a direct flame.
  • Do not expose to direct sunlight for a long period of time (such as rear car window).

IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT TO STORE YOUR JACKET CORRECTLY:

  • Before you store your leather item, make sure its clean and free from dust.
  • For minor cleaning, use oil based leather conditioning solvent.
  • Do not use perchloroethylene.
  • If there are any stains or strong odor, get that cleaned by professional leather cleaner who specializes in leather garments.
  • Stains and spills left on a leather coat will oxidize, making them impossible to remove.
  • If there are any stains or strong odours, have your garment cleaned by professionals who specialize in leather garments
  • Hang your leather item using a thick hanger.
  • Do not fold and stack your leather jacket.
  • Leather is a natural material and needs oxygen to live.
  • Therefore, cover it protectively inside a breathable bag.

Shipping & Returns

Your order should arrive within 2-5 business days from dispatch.
We cannot deliver to a PO Box and will require a physical address to fulfill the order.

International Shipping

Unfortunately we don’t ship internationally, yet.
But if you really NEED to have an item from Nimal, contact us directly so we can make a plan to get it to you.

Refunds and Exchanges

If you are dissatisfied with your purchase due to a defect, incorrect size or fit or other reason, you may return it to Nimal within 14 days of delivery and either receive a refund, or have the product replaced, depending on the situation. Exchanges are subject to stock availability. If the item is in stock, it will be sent to you free of charge within a maximum of 14 days.

In case of a refund, a confirmation email will be sent to you once the refund has been confirmed. Refunds will reflect withing 7 – 14 days. If you haven’t received a refund within the 7 – 14 working days, first check your bank account again. Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted. Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted. If you’ve done all of this and you still have not received your refund yet, please contact us at leather@nimal.co.za

To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging. Our policy lasts 14 days. If 14 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.

To complete your return, we require a receipt or proof of purchase.

Strictly no refunds or exchanges on CLEARANCE or SALES ITEMS including BLACK FRIDAY SALES.

Return Process

Please contact us at leather@nimal.co.za with your order number and reason for returning.

We will arrange a courier to contact you with collection details for the item/s. When we receive the delivery, your replacement will be sent or a refund given, depending on the situation.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary.

We will pay the courier fees for one exchange or return, if the address is in a main centre within South Africa, If you are based in an outlying area this will be on your account.  If a second exchange is needed it will be for your account.

If a courier is booked and the collection time is missed, that will be counted as the first exchange and any collections thereafter will be for your account.
